The May Fair gets £75mn redesign

Peter Grant, Jocelyn Brown and London’s top DJs and VJs top the bill as The May Fair re-launches on Thursday November 2, after a two year, £75m re-design.

The evening has been planned to reflect the wide sweep of performers and artists who have played and misbehaved at the hotel over the years. As news of the evening has leaked out demand for tickets has become intense with extra staff deployed to handle enquiries.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the reaction,” said Linda Plant, Marketing Director. “We are now fielding over 50 calls a day from people desperate to be part of our big night.” Confirmed celebrity partygoers reflect the hotel’s heritage in the world of stage, screen, media, design - and just those who love a good time!

Rather than a traditional launch party, the first night at the May Fair will feature a choreographed evening’s entertainment sweeping through large areas of the hotel.  With crooner Peter Grant nodding to the hotel’s heyday in the fifties, new bands tipped for future greatness plus disco diva Jocelyn Brown, the cast of Chicago and the glamorous burlesque routines of Gwendoline Lamour it will be an evening to launch London’s Winter Season in stunning style. Supporting the live acts are Electric Beat Consignment with VJ Kodek and the Freestylers with legendary DJ Matt Cantor.

Stars from the film and music industries will be among 600 invited guests.  The theme is “glamour” and a Style Hotline has been installed for anyone wanting tips on how to look great for the big night.
