Lion Sands joins Virtuoso

Virtuoso has chosen Ivory Lodge at Lion Sands Private Game Reserve in the Sabi Sand, Kruger National Park as 1 of the 8 select private reserves within the entire South Africa.Virtuoso is a by-invitation-only membership of the top independent luxury travel agencies in North & South America and Australia, with combined annual revenues of $US3 billion, offering a network of more than 6,000 elite travel specialists promoting and selling superior travel destinations.

Virtuoso offers the gateway to the world’s most extraordinary luxury hotels, resorts, spas, lodges and villas and, like a fine jeweller, the organisation examines every facet, personally visiting each location and experiencing all that each has to offer. And the sublime Lion Sands Ivory Lodge, third best in Tatler’s Best Hotels of the World 2006, has been awarded Virtuoso Preferred membership.

Says Robert More, owner of Lion Sands: “We are proud to have been chosen by Virtuoso to join their Best of the Best and sharing the benefits of being internationally marketed and sold to discerning world travellers by the Virtuoso team of experts. Sharing the Virtuoso stamp of approval with the likes of Raffles Hotel in Singapore, the Ritz in London and the Bellagio in Las Vegas is an honour for Lion Sands Ivory Lodge, which was launched two years ago in the Sabi Sand Reserve.”

Lion Sands Ivory Lodge: current rates are R6,500 per person sharing, including luxury accommodation, two game drives in open Land-rovers, three meals daily - which could be served in your luxury 165m2 suite if preferred - game drive refreshments, teas/coffees, laundry service, beverages (excluding premium brands and imports), maxi-bar and Skukuza airport transfers. The 6 ultra-luxurious private suites offer private plunge pools and unequalled vistas of the historical Sabie River.  Described in Tatler’s 2006 Travel Guide as “sleek, stunning and utterly different from any other lodge in Africa.”
