Emirates has denied media reports that it was considering cancelling a multi-billion dirham order for Airbus A-380 aircraft, saying that the airline had taken “no position” on the issue.
The airline said in a statement: “Emirates awaits clarification from Airbus as to when the rescheduled delivery dates are going to be and has taken no position with regards to cancellation, compensation or damages. Emirates is concerned primarily with establishing exactly when the aircraft will be delivered to the company in order that it can continue its planned expansion. There is no point in any further speculation.”

Emirates has not received any official notification from Airbus about a further delay in delivery and “is not considering cancelling” the deal at the moment. The airline is waiting for the final schedule of deliveries to be announced.
