Vodaphone taps into travel market

A survey by Vodafone UK has revealed that cameras, mobile phones, guide books, MP3 players and currency converters are considered essential holiday items. Now, all these and more are available through a Vodafone live! handset and, introduced today, the Vodafone Traveller’s Toolkit.

TRAVELLER’S TOOLKIT

As soon as a Vodafone live! customer arrives overseas, the Traveller’s Toolkit will feature prominently on a new roaming homepage, which they will automatically receive, allowing them to make the most of their time in the country with the minimum of hassle.

They can find out about the world’s greatest cities with Time Out City Guides; ‘mobicasts’ from The Independent’s travel writer Simon Calder; speak like a local with a language translator and even keep an eye on their finances with a currency converter - all from their handset. The roaming homepage also gives Vodafone live! customers pricing information on calling from abroad, access to home news and the opportunity to send a postcard from their handset.

This holiday survival kit is a perfect complement to Vodafone’s unique Passport roaming tariff, where customers can take their home tariff abroad for a one off connection fee of 75p per call.
