Re-styled Ala Moana Hotel debuts in June

The Ala Moana Hotel will be repositioned as an upscale hotel this June following a multimillion-dollar renovation that started fall of 2004. The upgrades significantly enhance the property’s appearance inside and out, giving the hotel a modern look and feel.

“The Ala Moana Hotel has never looked better and we’re excited to be able to share these enhancements and new amenities with our guests,” said Marty Milan, Ala Moana Hotel’s director of sales and marketing. “The renovations and upgrades have significantly improved the quality of the hotel and make it more appealing to the discerning needs of today’s customer.”

By the fall, all 1,154-guest rooms will be completely renovated in a contemporary theme with upgraded amenities including new beds and furniture, stainless steel refrigerators, flat-screen televisions, completely new bathrooms with custom marble accents, and high-speed Internet access.

The hotel’s interior features a redesigned lobby that creates a more dramatic sense of arrival with tiled floors, contemporary carpeting, and richly appointed urban furniture. Newly designed front, concierge and bell desks will grace the lobby.

Upon arrival, guests will quickly notice a fresh exterior complemented with new tinted glass balconies giving the outside of the hotel a new and contemporary appearance. Additionally, the pool deck has been completely renovated and a new fitness center will be found adjacent to it as part of the hotel’s expanded list of amenities.

“It’s been business as usual during this conversion to a condo-hotel. The change allows the property to fully operate as a first-class hotel with the benefit of having a consistent inventory throughout,” Milan said. “This is the second largest condo-hotel in the nation and we are pleased to have such impressive amenities and upgrades to the property. This truly takes the hotel décor to a new level with its urban contemporary atmosphere.”
