Holiday Inn Beaumont Plaza and Convention Center, which was hit by Hurricane Rita, has re-opened after undergoing $10 million in renovations.  Along with its meeting space and convention center, 156 of the Holiday Inn’s 253 inviting guest rooms are open for business. 

The hotel’s restaurant, The Greenery, which serves American and Cajun cuisine, and the atrium bar, Park Place, are also fully operational for guests and locals to enjoy.  Springfield, Mo.-based John Q. The hotel immediately began to rebuild and renovate after Hurricane Rita destroyed 80 percent of the hotel’s sheetrock, the carpet, pool area, ceilings, windows and the air-conditioning units, in September 2005.

The entirely renovated facility features contemporary furniture and a warm, golden color scheme.  A grand re-opening is planned for early summer when all guestroom renovations are complete.

The Holiday Inn Beaumont Plaza and Convention Center is the largest in the area, boasting 22,000 square feet of meeting space.  The hotel’s staff caters to each group’s specialized needs and provides a full-range of event planning assistance and catering.  The hotel features a variety of amenities for both business and leisure travelers.  Each of the 253 rooms, including seven Presidential Suites and 49 deluxe Plaza Suites, includes a phone with voicemail, hair dryer, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, remote control color television and room service.
