Galileo, Cebu Pacific Air ink deal

Galileo International is signing a marketing agreement with Philippines’ low-fare pioneer, Cebu Pacific Air (CEB), which will provide Galileo-connected travel agents with access to Cebu Pacific’s full domestic content.

The agreement provides Cebu Pacific a much larger distribution network through Galileo’s GDS, giving them access to customers throughout the region.
According to Brad Holman, managing director, Airline Services, Cendant TDS Asia Pacific, this development will have far reaching implications for Galileo’s broader success in the Philippines and the region.
“As a National Carrier and the second leading carrier in the Philippines, the decision by Cebu Pacific to make its inventory available to travel agents via our GDS is further testament to the value that we provide to airlines and travel agents throughout the region,” stated Mr. Holman.
Edwin Bautista, VP Sales for Cebu Pacific Air, said “This partnership with Galileo will enable us to serve an even larger and wider network of markets, allows us to be more accessible, and expand our sales potential into markets where we have not been represented before. At

the same time, this partnership allows us to further tap into the travel agent market to enhance awareness of our brand and content globally, while positioning Cebu Pacific as a key player in the Philippines and the region.”
“We are excited about our relationship with Galileo, the leading provider of electronic global distribution services for the travel industry, which will also provide the airline access to Cendant’s broad portfolio of content channels as a means to expand into key markets across the region and worldwide,” Bautista concluded.
Andrew Ling, Regional Manager, Galileo Philippines said “We are particularly excited about our unique relationship with Cebu Pacific, which again demonstrates Cendant’s goal of delivering breakthrough partnerships and diverse product offerings as well as our strong commitment to the Philippine travel and tourism industry.”
Launched in March 1996, Cebu Pacific Air pioneered the “low fare, great value” strategy in the Philippines aviation industry, and currently operates 80 daily flights to 15 domestic destinations and international flights to Hong Kong and Seoul, Korea.
Cebu Pacific Air joins 54 other Low Cost Carriers around the world that are using the Galileo GDS as a distribution channel.
