SkyWest wins on-time award
SkyWest Airlines has been ranked as the number one on-time american airline by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s airline On-Time Performance report for the year 2005.For three years running, SkyWest Airlines clocked-in with the highest On-Time arrival record of any mainland United States-based airline.
SkyWest Airlines is one of 19 carriers required to report operating statistics by the DOT.
The airline transported 16.5 million passengers during the twelve-month period.
President and chief operating officer Ron Reber said, “I commend our workforce for their tireless dedication to outstanding operational performance. This designation is a testament to the exceptional product we deliver to our passengers and major partners every day.”
Vice president of customer service Jim Boyd added, “Despite operational challenges new to our airline in 2005, our industrious workforce continues to set the benchmark for airline performance. Congratulations to our frontline personnel and support staff for maintaining sound system operations.”

SkyWest Airlines was named the Number One On-Time Mainland Airline in the United States by the Department of Transportation for 2005, a year in which they carried 16.5 million passengers. System-wide, SkyWest Airlines employs more than 9,000 airline industry professionals and serves a total of 124 cities in 38 states and three Canadian provinces. The airline departs more than 1,500 times per day under the United Express and Delta Connection banners.
