Lufthansa makes disabled partnership

Deutsche Lufthansa has become the official partner - starting with the Paralympics in Turin - of the German Disabled Sports Federation (DBS).The cooperation covers the Paralympic Games
in Turin 2006 and Beijing 2008. A total of 70 athletes and coaches from Germany will
be involved at the IX. Winter Paralympics from 10th to 19th March 2006 in Turin.
Most of them will fly to Italy with Lufthansa.

“Top-class athletes with handicaps produce outstanding performances and achieve
excellent successes at the Paralympics. Just like us, they have the will to produce
the finest quality and to reach the finish as a winner”, says Thierry Antinori,
Vice-President Marketing and Sales at Lufthansa German Airlines,. “We are delighted
to support these athletes through our newly-founded partnership with the DBS”.
According to Karl Hermann Haack, the President of the German Disabled Sports
Federation, the partnership with Lufthansa represents a meaningful rounding-off of
the DBS activities in the area of mobility. “I am really delighted that we have
Lufthansa back in the boat again now”, added the former Federal Commissioner for the
Disabled.

Lufthansa has for many years been supporting both Olympic and the Paralympic sport
and maintains friendly relations to the National Olympic Committee (NOC) and also to
the German Disabled Sports Federation. Lufthansa already carried the German teams to
Athens for the Olympic Games and the Paralympics 2004 as the “Official Carrier”.
