American adds to Dallas team

American Airlines has appointed Lynda Johnson to the position of General
Manager—Dallas Love Field.“With 25 years of company experience, and as our general manager there the
last time American served Love Field, Lynda is uniquely qualified for this
important position,” said Tim Ahern, Vice President—DFW Hub, who has
responsibility for AA’s Love Field operations.  “Lynda will provide the
dynamic and skilled leadership we need to ensure that our new service at Love
Field starts well and is a long-term success.”
  Johnson served as AA’s general manager at Dallas Love Field from September
1998 until September 2001, managing the day-to-day operation of the station.
  “This new venture at Love Field is such a major priority for American,”
said Johnson.  “I’m honored to accept the responsibility, and I look forward
to making sure that our customers at Love Field enjoy the finest service we
can provide.”
  Johnson joined American Airlines in 1981 as an airport operations agent in
Jackson, Miss.  She has held numerous positions within the customer service
organization, including her current position as a ramp services manager at DFW
International Airport.  She worked as a supervisor in New Orleans, overseeing
passenger and ramp service, and was also general manager in Eugene, Ore., and
Burbank, Calif.  Johnson had previously served as an area general manager for
Richmond and Norfolk, Va., and Greensboro, N.C.  Johnson also assisted with
the start-up of operations in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Gunnison, Colo.
  Johnson is a native of Mississippi. She received a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Business Administration from Jackson State University.  In 1982, she
received her Master’s of Business Administration from Jackson State.
