Thomson uses DJ for webchat

In the UK, Thomson is teaming up with popular Radio One DJ, Scott Mills, to offer some expert advice online about “The Best Places to Party This Summer”. The live web chat will take place on Thursday, February 9 from 12-1pm on www.thomson.co.uk.

This new feature of Thomson’s website was launched at the beginning of this year and has already proved a great success with hundreds of questions being put to our Thomson and celebrity experts on topics such as Cruises, Family holidays, Skiing holidays and Caribbeanbreaks.

Previous celebrity chats have included Olympic skier Martin Bell and TV travel personality, Russell Amerasekara.

Scott Mills is the current host of Radio 1’s weekly 4-7pm show as well as deputising for Chris Moyles’ breakfast show. Last summer Thomsonfly flew Scott and his team out to Majorcafor a live breakfast show broadcast poolside in the party resort of Magaluf so Scott has first hand experience of one of Thomson’s liveliest summer party hot spots.

Eager web chatters can already register their questions on line by clicking on the web chats’ link on the Thomson homepage.

From finding out the biggest club nights out with the best DJs to where to go for that full CafeDelMar chill out experience, Scott will be at hand to answer as many questions as possible.

Scott’s inclusion on the web chat feature is further proof that Thomson is keen to appeal to as many different ages as possible and follows several new web site innovations including a Google Earth overlay of Thomson Holidays, customer holiday reviews and the video brochures.

Head of new media for Thomson, Graham Donoghue, said; “We are delighted to have Scott on board for this week’s web chat. He’s one of the most well known and popular radio names at the moment making him more than qualified to tell people about the latest holiday clubbing trends and party hotspots abroad. In previous weeks the questions have been so varied and unpredictable, it will be interesting to see what the public want to ask one of this country’s biggest DJs.”

Future web chats will include more Thomson travel experts as well as celebrity TV chef and Strictly Come Dancing star, James Martin.
