Two appointments at The Balmoral Spa

Edinburgh’s Balmoral Spa is announcing two key appointments: Ian Berry heads up The Spa as Spa & Leisure Manager, assisted by Julie Hamilton as Head Therapist.

Ian brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles in health and fitness management across the UK. He has relocated from Stratford-Upon-Avon where he looked after 1,200 BodySense members at Walton Hall Hotel and Spa. Ian is already developing fitness initiatives unique to The Balmoral, with all members being offered one-to-one sessions with a dedicated Personal Trainer and Lifestyle Consultant. The Balmoral Spa is now the only hotel spa in Edinburgh to use the most advanced technology in its health and fitness screening.

Ian commented on his new role: “I am delighted to join a world-class team at Edinburgh’s leading luxury hotel. The Balmoral Spa treats its clients as individuals, and takes great pride in its attention to detail. I aim to ensure that it remains Edinburgh’s number one choice for personalised spa and fitness experiences.”

Julie Hamilton has come to head up the team of therapists at The Balmoral following two and a half years at One Spa. Julie started her career at the Marriott Dalmahoy after graduating in Beauty Therapy from Telford College. She has achieved the highest level of ESPA training, with particular expertise in Aroma therapy and Holistic Hot Stone Treatments.

Julie will play a key role in enhancing the customer journey as she guides them through the spa experience, which includes a detailed consultation, tailored treatment, and after-care advice in the ambience of The Spa’s Relaxation Suite. Julie said: “I am very excited to be leading such a talented team of therapists at The Balmoral Spa, and look forward to continuing to build on the strength of this luxury product.”

Together Ian and Julie aim to develop the Spa Residential and Day Packages to encompass all aspects of The Spa in one single experience, including nutritional advice and advanced health checks, one-to-one fitness sessions, and relaxing spa treatments. They will also extend the range of studio and water classes currently available to include Hip-Hop, Salsa, personal Yoga tuition and Ai-Chi - a form of aqua Tai-Chi.
