easyJet boosts capacity to Cologne
easyJet is increasing capacity on its London Gatwick to Cologne route from September this year. Since it began operating its daily flight from London Gatwick to Cologne in September 2004, easyjet has seen a great demand for low-cost fares to the popular German city.
Cologne is famous for its Gothic cathedral, which is one of the country’s top attractions. It took over 600 years to build the cathedral and it is a world heritage site. Cologne is located in the German state of North Rhine Westphalia, along the Rhine river between the city of Düsseldorf and Bonn. Founded by Romans, Cologne is one of Germany’s oldest cities.
Cologne is also the centre for business and media in Germany and is home to many major trade fairs throughout the year.
Emma Curwood, easyJet Marketing Manager for London commented “easyJet will be increasing the number of flights from Gatwick to Cologne from 25 September, due to the increase in demand. In the last 12 months easyJet has carried over 150,000 passengers on the route and with the new capacity we expect to double that figure.”
