Lofthouse grabs Macdonald sales role

Macdonald Hotels and Resorts has made a major sales appointment following the
completion of a £5.5 million development in Shropshire.Diane Lofthouse has been taken on as regional sales manager at Macdonald
Albrighton Hall which has just converted a grade II listed stable block into
16 new bedrooms.

All the 87 ensuite bedrooms within the 300-year-old country house hotel in
Ellesmere Road, near Shrewsbury, have been refurbished along with the Vital
Health and Leisure Spa.

 

The 49-year-old was previously business development manager at Llyndir Hall
Hotel in Chester and director of hotel sales at Knowsley Hall in Merseyside.

“This is a great new challenge for me,” she said. “As soon as I heard of
this opportunity, I applied straight away because I know from being involved
in the industry for such a long time that this will be an interesting job.

 

“It is a lovely hotel and the new bedrooms, which have been finished to a
high standard, are excellent.

 

“The whole refurbishment has been completed and it looks fantastic and my
job will be focused on continuing to drive the sales forwards.

 

“This is the first time that I have worked for Macdonald Hotels & Resorts
but they are a go-ahead company who are spending millions of pounds
refurbishing many of their hotels throughout the UK.”

 

Diane will also be responsible for heading the sales team at the Macdonald
Hill Valley Hotel, Golf & Country Club in Tarporley Road which is currently
undergoing a £13.5 million development.
