Grand Rapids, San Louis airports get wi-fi

ICOA, Inc is adding service to two new airports: Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) of Grand Rapids, Michigan and San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport (SBP) in California.ICOA dba ICOA Airport Networks currently provides service to twenty-seven airports nationally which serve more than sixty-five million annual passengers.

Eighteen ICOA-powered airports have full-facility public and private Wi-Fi coverage. Nine additional airports have wireless and wired service covering select high-traffic public areas.

GRR, Michigan’s second busiest commercial airport, serves over two million annual passengers. San Luis Obispo, located in the Central Coast region of California, serves over three hundred thousand annual passengers.

The ICOA-powered networks will provide full coverage to both passenger terminals with public broadband wireless Internet access, as well as wholesale and secured private networks for operational needs.

ICOA will provide complete management, maintenance, customer care and the full suite of its back-office solutions, including authentication and reporting.

The new high-speed broadband wireless Internet networks will offer passengers secure, convenient wireless Internet access from anywhere in the terminal.

The public service does not require users to install or use proprietary software.

Passengers with Wi-Fi-enabled laptops or PDAs will be able to connect to the Internet to check their e-mail, access their corporate servers, download documents and surf the Web with unlimited access from anywhere in the airport.

Airport information, such as flight schedules, ground transportation information, passenger services and security bulletins can also be accessed from the Wi-Fi portals at each airport facility.
