US Air lowers leisure fares

With holiday shoppers in mind, the airline is offering special shopping spree holiday fares between New York La Guardia and Boston and between New York’s La Guardia airport and Washington’s Reagan National airport.

Effective Dec. 10-11 and Dec. 17-18, US Airways is offering fares of $49 each way based on roundtrip purchase for tickets purchased through usairways.com between New York and Washington D.C. and between New York and Boston. No advance purchase is required.

“Leisure travel to New York City from Boston and Washington D.C. is not only popular during the holidays, but year round,” said Scott Kirby, executive vice president, sales and marketing.

“Our restructured Shuttle fares leave customers more money to spend at their destination—whether that’s to see a great Broadway show, an exciting sports event or to enjoy some world-class shopping with family and friends. Reducing our Shuttle fares underscores our commitment to combining superior service with customer-friendly pricing.”

US Airways and America West’s recent merger creates the fifth largest domestic airline employing 35,000 aviation professionals. US Airways, US Airways Shuttle and US Airways Express operate approximately 4,000 flights per day and serve more than 225 communities in the U.S., Canada, Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America.
