Sandals predicts good season

The senior executive at Sandals Resort is playing an upbeat tune about the upcoming holiday season at this year’s World Travel Awards.
“We have been having our best year ever, the Fall looks even better,” says John Lynch, executive vice president of Sandals Resort at the gala ceremony.

One concern this year has been the Hurricane season, one of the worst on record, images of deluged resorts and windswept coastlines have been strewn across the media.

“Perception is bad, though next to nothing has been hit in our region,” explains Lynch.
“In fact bookings looks good and we are in good form for the coming season.”

“Europeans have a good sense of geography more so than Americans and they know which areas have been hit and which ones have not.”

This year Sandals Resort has received the “Caribbean’s Leading Hotel Brand,” as well as a number of other trophies at the World Travel Awards, which were presented at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London on Sunday, November 13.

The matrimonial market is one area that Sandals has been focusing on over the last few years. “We have been doing some good things with weddings. We have employed Preston Bailey—he has got excellent taste for the Caribbean,” explains Lynch

“Peope buying into our all inclusive wedding packages has been good business for us as has our custom wedding services”
