Second Dominican route for Spirit

Spirit Airlines is starting a new, non-stop, daily service from Fort Lauderdale to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic beginning December 10. Punta Cana will be Spirit’s second destination in the Dominican Republic and 28th destination overall, further reinforcing Spirit’s position as the leading, low fare Caribbean carrier and the airline that offers the most non-stop service to the Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale.

“Punta Cana is an ideal addition to our Caribbean network with its fabulous resorts and sunshine,” said Barry Biffle, Chief Marketing Officer of Spirit Airlines.

“With the addition of Punta Cana from Fort Lauderdale, we now offer 16 non-stop routes to the Bahamas, the Caribbean and Latin America. Any way you look at it, we have hot fares, sweet new airplanes, and yet another sexy destination.”

Introductory fares must be booked on spiritair.com by November 21, 2005 for travel December 10, 2005 through February 9, 2006.

Spirit will offer connecting service through its Fort Lauderdale hub to the destination from Atlanta, Atlantic City, Chicago/O’Hare, Dallas/Fort Worth, Detroit, Los Angeles /LAX, NY/LaGuardia, Orlando, Providence/Boston Area, Tampa, and Washington, D.C./Reagan National.
