Amadeus UK shifts focus to cruise
Amadeus has signed 65 new UK cruise customers so far this year and reported significant growth in cruise bookings of more than 75 percent (year-on-year) through it’s unique Cruise reservations solution.
Cunard Line is the latest company to distribute via Amadeus Cruise Reservations in the UK following the recent implementation of Norwegian Cruise Lines plus The Yachts of Seabourn and Ocean Village earlier this year.
The GDS currently has twelve cruise providers available with new providers being added soon.
Many providers are reporting high levels of agency automation, thanks in part to the accessibility of Amadeus Cruise Reservations. Andrew Moran, Head of Customer Service Systems, Carnival UK said, “Brands such as P&O Cruises are seeing automation levels of 60% thanks to the popularity of browser based tools such as Amadeus Cruise Reservation.”
Amadeus UK has recently released the latest Amadeus Cruise Reservations software update - version 3.8.
Stephane Durand, Managing Director Amadeus UK said: “As technology partner to our agency customers, Amadeus is placing greater emphasis on solutions for non-air bookings. Amadeus Cruise Reservations is at the forefront of our efforts to assist travel agents with revenue diversification. The UK is now the number 2 market for Amadeus cruise bookings, accounting for some 30 percent of all Amadeus’ global cruise bookings.
