Flybe voted top low cost airline

Flybe has been voted ‘Best Low Fares Airline’ at the Northern Ireland Travel and Tourism Awards.  The title was announced at the annual event held in Belfast on Friday 14th October.

Flybe was voted the leading airline in the new ‘Low Fares Airline’ category by travel agents across Northern Ireland. Easyjet, Jet 2 and bmi Baby were also nominated in the same category.

Flybe recently launched its new route to Manchester (from its base at Befast city). The new route will commence in January 2006.

Stephen Hobday, Head of Sales, Flybe, said: “To be named ‘Best Low Fares Airline’ is a fantastic achievement, especially given the intense competition in the Northern Ireland market.  We are also especially delighted that the accolade comes as a result of province-wide votes from throughout the travel trade.  Over 30% of Flybe’s total sales revenue in Northern Ireland is generated by our travel agents and this award is a tangible recognition of this successful two-way partnership.”
