Bolongo to Assist Hurricane Katrina Victims

Bolongo Bay Beach Club in St.
Thomas, together with the St. Thomas-St. John Hotel & Tourism Association, the
American Red Cross of the Virgin Islands and private citizens, will be hosting two
“United Ah We” fundraising events on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005 to benefit the American
Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. All profits from ticket sales and 100 percent of
the revenue generated by a raffle and silent auction held during the day will be
donated for the relief of victims of Hurricane Katrina.
From Noon-8 pm, participants can enjoy a New Orleans-inspired Mardi Gras-themed
event at Iggies Beach Bar & Grill complete with Mardi Gras beads, a Cajun buffet,
hurricane drinks, live music, dancing and raffles for local hotel stays.

Bolongo is
also offering space on the beach to vendors who would like to sell their products in
an effort to generate donations for the American Red Cross.

Tickets are US$10 per
person and include the first drink.

“Bolongo is proud to sponsor our fifth ‘United Ah We’ fundraising event since Sept.
11, 2001 in an effort to raise monetary donations for those in need, and in this
case we are reaching out to the people affected by Hurricane Katrina in the Gulf
Coast States,” said Paul Doumeng, general manager of Bolongo.

“We chose the theme ‘United Ah We’ as a way of reminding people that we are all each
others’ neighbors and therefore need to unite in support of our neighbors during a
time of crisis and need,” Doumeng added.
