Flybe has announced the appointment of Ian Johnson as its new Director of IS & Technology overseeing activities across its network.Heading up Flybe’s IS & Technology, Johnson will assume responsibility for all IS activities network wide, safeguarding existing business services and systems as well as innovating in the delivery of services and technologies to see continued growth in the business.

Johnson joins Flybe from his previous position as Director of Information Systems with the Land Registry, and also brings with him a wealth of experience in both IT and Aviation, from positions held within IBM, BAE Systems and the Royal Air Force.

Johnson has been charged with implementing key practices to improve efficiency internally and improve the customer experience online. Johnson and his team will be reviewing key systems to reduce complexity for the customer whilst improving on the systems currently in place to grow the business, enabling easier expansion of routes in the future.

This role brings me into the commercial aviation sector for the first time and I look forward to bringing my previous experience to bear in such a dynamic and evolving environment.”
