American Seeks San Jose Service

American Airlines announced
today that it has applied to the U.S. Department of Transportation for
authorization to begin service between New York’s JFK International Airport
and San Jose del Cabo, in the Baja California region of Mexico, on Feb. 4,
2006.American would operate two flights a week during the peak season and one
flight a week during the off-peak season.  The airline said it would fly the
new route with a Boeing 757 aircraft with 188 seats configured for both coach
and business class.
  Chuck Imhof, American Airlines’ Managing Director for Greater New York,
said, “The Los Cabos region is a popular destination for travelers who want to
enjoy its high-end resorts, golf and deep-sea fishing.  American has served
Mexico for more than 60 years and already has a substantial presence and
identity at Los Cabos.  Regular non-stop American Airlines flights to San Jose
del Cabo will be a welcome opportunity for New Yorkers who want to partake in
the Los Cabos experience.”
