La Quinta Corporation
today announced that it has appointed Steven A. Schumm as
Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer.  Mr. Schumm will report to
Francis W. (“Butch”) Cash, La Quinta’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.Mr. Schumm brings to La Quinta more than 30 years of public accounting as
well as corporate financial, administrative and operational experience, much
of that time being spent in roles of increasing responsibility with Ernst &
Young, LLP and its predecessors, including managing partner of the St. Louis
office.  Most recently, Mr. Schumm served as Executive Vice President and
Chief Administrative Officer for Charter Communications, Inc.  During his
tenure with Charter, Mr. Schumm also served as interim Chief Financial Officer
and was instrumental in successfully guiding the company through a challenging
period.
