Divi Resorts has announced the appointment of Maarten van Wijk as the new General Manager of the Divi Flamingo Beach Resort & Casino located on the Dutch Caribbean island of Bonaire. As General Manager, Mr. Van Wijk will focus on maintaining the resort’s dedication to providing consistent and superior service and hospitality, and augmenting the resort’s surroundings and amenities all with the flair and flavour of Bonairean tradition.Born and raised in The Netherlands and in the hotel industry, Mr. Van Wijk began his career in 1978.

Before joining the Divi Flamingo team he worked for more than twelve years with Hershey Entertainment and Resorts (HE&R) where he held various positions including the General Manager for six years of the prestigious Hotel Hershey in PA, where he was responsible for the opening of the now famous Chocolate Spa and bringing the Hotel Hershey to its current level of AAA Four Diamonds and MOBIL Four Stars.

Also he held the position of Assistant General Manager of The Hershey Lodge & Convention Center, a conference resort with 650 rooms and a 100,000-square-foot convention center.
