Eustace ‘Guish’ Guishard, General Manager of Cap Juluca, Anguilla, has received the Caribbean’s highest honour, the 2005 Caribbean Hotelier of the Year award. Guishard is the 28th recipient and the first Anguillian to receive this recognition. Chosen by his peers-all previous winners of this annual award-the Golden Conch was presented by the Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA) with the co-sponsorship of Yesawich, Pepperdine, Brown & Russell and American Express, at the culmination of the Caribbean Hotel Industry Conference (CHIC 2005), on June 29th in Miami.“I am deeply honoured to receive this recognition. There are so many people who have contributed to making Cap Juluca what it is today and I owe much to them. Most of all, credit goes to our team of 400 which has raised the bar on the quality of hospitality our guests receive. Anguillians represent 90% of our top management positions, which demonstrates their outstanding commitment and the high standards of their efforts,” stated Guishard.

The Caribbean Hotelier of the Year is chosen for accomplishments and leadership that have created a new standard in resort hospitality within the region. In addition to recognising superior hotel management, CHA seeks to honour the professional who demonstrates commitment to the training and development of staff, to the community, and is an active participant in both national and regional issues affecting Caribbean tourism.
