MEA Chooses Mercator System

Lebanon’s national flag-carrier, Middle
East Airlines
(MEA), has signed up for the RAPID revenue accounting solution
from Mercator, the Dubai-based IT division of the Emirates Group. MEA has selected the passenger revenue accounting version of the industry
leading RAPID system as part of its current initiative to streamline
processes, drive down costs and modernise in all areas of its business.

RAPID takes the information printed on airline passenger tickets and
analyses it to produce the financial and strategic information needed for
airline management to make informed decisions, quickly and with confidence. ,

 

Adib Chreif, MEA’s Head of Information Technology, said: “We will soon be
celebrating our 60th anniversary of operations here at MEA, yet we are not
resting on our laurels. We know that we have to continually innovate in
order to maintain our competitiveness, and RAPID will play a key part in
this new MEA.”,

Once the implementation has been completed, MEA will be able to close its
books in record time at the end of each financial period, boosting cash flow
and protecting hard-earned profits. Efficiency and productivity is boosted,
accounting costs are slashed and competitive edge is sharpened.,
