American and Unions Issue Statement
Today American
Airlines, the Allied Pilots Association, the Association of Professional
Flight Attendants, and the Transport Workers Union issued an expanded version
of their previously released joint statement on pension reform.The joint statement outlines key points the company and its unions agree
are necessary to protect the pensions of U.S. workers.
Also today, American Airlines employees representing all work groups took
the same message to Congress during an early morning rally on Capitol Hill.
The employees will meet throughout the day with approximately 200 individual
legislators to share jointly held beliefs on pension reform legislation.
The company, its unions, and employees also placed an ad in USA Today
thanking Congress for supporting pension reform that makes funding employee
pensions flexible and affordable for companies to maintain.
