IHG Earns Latin American Accolades
InterContinental Hotels Group Latin America recently added another honor to its growing list of accolades in the tourism industry, as Carlos Baruki, IHG Latin America, Area Director of Sales and Marketing, and IHG won the award for the top international hotel group, presented as one of “Top 10” awards by tourism magazine, Brazil Travel News. Baruki was recently presented with the award during a reception at the Crowne Plaza Sao Paulo, a celebration that marked Brazil Travel News’s 20-year history. Attendees enjoyed a festive gathering to mark the milestone of the publication, including dinner and the awards presentation.
“This award presented is a great honor for IHG, and we feel delighted to have been part of the 20-year anniversary celebration of Brazil Travel News,” Baruki said.
Other winners in the “Top 10” category included: Walfrido Mares Guia, the Minister of Tourism, AVIS in the car rental category; and Josue Meza for United Airlines in the international airline category.
The Brazil Travel News award for IHG follows recent recognition from Latin Trade magazine, one of Latin America’s largest and most respected pan-regional business magazines. Following its popular annual survey of 110,000 of its readers, Latin Trade selected five InterContinental Hotels in Latin America as the ‘Best of Latin America.’
