Pegasus Expands into Asia-Pacific

Pegasus Solutions has named Olivier Dombey as its vice president of sales and account management for Asia-Pacific. The company also announced that it has opened an office in central Beijing.
“One of our primary growth initiatives for 2005 is expansion in the Asia-Pacific region,” said Bob Boles, Pegasus’ chief operating officer. “Olivier and our Asia-Pacific sales team will lead our efforts to provide technology solutions and services to hotels and travel distributors in the region. The December signing of our electronic distribution agreement with Ctrip.com was an important first step.”

As part of its electronic distribution agreement with Ctrip.com International, Ltd., a leading consolidator of hotel and flight accommodations in China, Pegasus provides Ctrip direct access to inventory at nearly 60,000 hotels worldwide. Under the agreement, Ctrip is also able to utilize Pegasus’ PegsTour® service which automates wholesale and tour operator bookings from leading hotel chains.

Pegasus has also signed an agreement with Hospitality Host, a Taiwan-based marketing and technology firm. The company’s Unirez by Pegasus service enables Hospitality Host’s 174 hotel members to receive bookings from international guests by connecting them to the global distribution systems and thousands of international travel portals.

“With offices in Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, and now Beijing, Pegasus is uniquely positioned within the region to continue bolstering travel from China and other Asian countries,” said Dombey. “We provide the most comprehensive set of technology solutions and services to hotels and travel distributors around the world. We’ve already signed several new and significant deals within the region, and I’m excited about the additional opportunities we’re working on.”

Dombey officially joined Pegasus in January of 2005. He is fluent in English, French and Mandarin, and brings 17 years of international sales and marketing experience to his current role. Before joining Pegasus, Dombey held senior-level marketing positions at companies including Beijing Ou Yang Business Consulting Ltd., a travel distribution, channel marketing, revenue management and technology business consultancy; Beijing Jin Lu Xiang Development Corporation Ltd., an international sales and marketing consultancy; Partners in Marketing, an international business consulting firm for travel, distribution strategy, e-business and channel marketing; the Seychelles Marketing Tourist Board; Galileo International, a leading travel software and network system supplier; and Transport Development Group (TDG), the second largest international distribution and logistics operator in the world.
