Radisson SAS Announces New Dubai Hotel
Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, the first-class, full-service international brand of Rezidor SAS Hospitality, announces the new Radisson SAS Hotel Dubai Media City, slated to open in December 2005 in the heart of theÊ rapidly expandingÊ destination. The new 251-room property, comprised of two buildings connected by a bridge link, will feature three bars and three restaurants - offering a variety of cuisine including Asian fusion, Italian and all-day dining.
Ê
With seven meeting rooms and an executive lounge with a separate boardroom and business center, the hotel provides all the necessary facilities for the growing meeting, incentive, conference and exhibition (MICE) industry in and around Dubai’s Media City and Internet City.Ê
Ê
The property will also offer an impressive array of leisure facilities - two swimming pools, including one on the rooftop terrace, an upscale spa with five treatment rooms, separate steam rooms for men and women and a gym.
Ê
“The United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues to grow in stature as a regional business and leisure hub, and it is important that Radisson SAS is a part of that,” said Kurt Ritter, president and CEO, Rezidor SAS. “Our tremendous success with the Radisson SAS Resort, Sharjah, has formed a solid foundation which we can build upon with this stunning Dubai property.”
Ê
“As part of our development strategy, we introduced the Radisson SAS ‘new breed’ hotels with great success in Europe,” said Ritter. “New breed hotels incorporate all the Radisson SAS values, including the ‘Yes I Can’ Spirit of Service that is synonymous with the brand, with the addition of technologically advanced facilities and a contemporary design ethos that make them stand out from the crowd.
Ê
“The Media City property fits the profile perfectly and gives the ideal opportunity to introduce the concept to the Middle East, where competition and demand for state-of-the-art hotels is constantly increasing.”
Ê
Individually-designed room themes, a new focus on innovative architecture and stylish bars and restaurants are the cornerstones of the “new breed” properties, such as the Radisson SAS Hotel Berlin, which has the world’s largest freestanding aquarium, and the Radisson SAS Hotel Frankfurt, with a 325 feet tall blue disc design.
Ê
“To introduce the new breed of Radisson SAS hotels into the new growth area of Dubai seems very fitting,” explained Ritter. “Business and leisure travellers expecting a full-service hotel experience with contemporary design and modern technology will find the Radisson SAS Hotel Dubai Media City exceeds their expectations.”
Rezidor SAS, for whom the Middle East is a major growth area, plans to introduce four more properties in Saudi Arabia, including the first two Park Inn hotels to be introduced in the region. The other two properties are the Radisson SAS Al Madinah Paradise Resort, which will feature 212 rooms in one of the Kingdom’s holiest cities, and the Radisson SAS Royal Suite Hotel, Jeddah, which opens its doors later this year. Other upcoming Middle East properties include the Radisson SAS Resort, Al Quseir, Radisson’s third resort in Egypt, and two hotels on The Palm, Jumeirah.
