Opodo Appoints New COO

Opodo today announced that it has appointed Marco Trecroce as Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for technology and operations across the whole of the Opodo Group.
Marco has over 17 years international experience in the Travel and Leisure, Information Technology and Management Consulting industries. Most recently he was a Management Consultant for Amadeus (Jan 2004 to March 2005) and prior to this was UK Group Business Transformation & Operations Director for Thomas Cook AG, UK (June 2001 to Dec 2003), where he developed the UK transformation business case and led a company-wide change process that included head office, retail and tour operating.

Marco started his career at IBM as Sales Representative, General Business Marketing in Toronto (Sept 1987 to March 1993) before spending six years as a Senior Manager, Business Consulting for Arthur Andersen in Canada, (April 1993 to May 1999) which was followed by a two year role at MyTravel PLC as UK Project Director (June 1999 to May 2001). 

Simon Vincent, CEO of Opodo commented “We are delighted to welcome Marco to Opodo. Commenting on his appointment Marco said, “I am delighted to be joining Opodo at such an exciting time in the company’s development. The company has grown rapidly over the last six months and I look forward to working with Simon and the rest of the team to build on the success we have already achieved.” 

Marco will report directly to Opodo CEO Simon Vincent.
