New Hotel for Brighton

A new hotel is to be launched in Brighton this month. The project, in the
final stages of a multi million pound revamp, will set the tone for a new
league of ‘grown up’ Brighton hotels, boasting a spa, conference
facilities and a credible restaurant.Formerly the Dudley hotel, once a 5 star hotel under Trusthouse Forte,
Lansdowne Place is located just off Brighton seafront opposite Hove lawns.
The building has undergone a complete renovation to restore it to its former
glory, with the addition of state of the art facilities bringing it into
21st century.

Eschewing the ubiquitous look of so many design hotels, Lansdowne Place
exudes genteel charm.  The interior is aimed at comfort and understated
style: classic wallpapers and lacquered wood giving an oriental colonial
feel. Sustainable yet modern, the rooms, restaurant and conference
facilities are bright, light and airy, never pretentious or over-designed.

The hotel boasts 84 bedrooms, including a spacious 75 sq metre two-room
suite with a sitting room, guest bathroom and en suite bedroom.  The
bedroom features a free-standing bath, whist the decadently spacious marble
bathroom is equipped with a walk in wet room.  All the bedrooms are
spacious and elegant, fully equipped with baths and power showers, fine
Egyptian cotton bed linen, LCD screens and broadband internet connection.

A 90-cover restaurant, The Grill at the Lansdowne, will feature classic
dishes made using locally sourced organic and free range produce where
possible. The menu will be complemented by a predominantly French wine list,
whilst a cocktail lounge bar seats 30.

Nine spa treatment spaces are in development, and will launch within the
next three months. They include a relaxation area and steam room.

A noteworthy and a welcome addition to the town are the seven fully
equipped, up-to-the-minute conference rooms. These include a ballroom for
150 seated, a conference room with capacity for 200 featuring an LCD
projection screen, and the 80 seated Regency Suite.  All private rooms have
built-in sound systems and plasma screens, and the hotel also features Wi-Fi
wireless broadband internet access throughout.

Other features include a secluded first floor sun deck in progress and a
walled ground floor terrace garden. A concierge beach service can arrange a
Lansdowne Place deck chair on the beach, picnic hampers and bicycle hire.
Brighton?s main shopping area is just a 15-minute walk from the hotel and
Gatwick airport is within easy access by train or car.
