MICROS Reaches 1,100 IHG Installations

MICROS Systems and InterContinental Hotels Group, are pleased to announce that
over 1,100 InterContinental Hotels Group hotels in North America
have been installed with the MICROS OPERA and MICROS OPERA Xpress
solutions. Almost 1,400 IHG Hotels have been installed worldwide including
53 in Latin America, 158 in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, and 58 in
Asia Pacific. Beginning in January 2004, MICROS began installing OPERA and OPERA Xpress
PMS programs in conjunction with “HIRO” IHG’s revenue management system.
Both OPERA products offer tight integration with HIRO and the IHG central
reservations system, HOLIDEX Plus.

“Over the past year, the Americas region of IHG has been upgrading its
hotels’ PMS programs as part of an integrated technology system solution
designed to provide its owners and operators with access to
state-of-the-art technology,” said Angela Brav, SVP, Americas Franchise
and Operations Support, IHG.

“When you deploy a product like the PMS in a short time frame, it is
crucial to choose the right partners - MICROS has been a very strong
partner,” continued Brav. “The strength of this partnership and our
findings along the way have enabled us to install these 1,100 systems in
only 16 months.”

“MICROS is installing different versions of the OPERA PMS system across
the IHG portfolio of brands with solutions for full-service,
limited-service and extended-stay properties,” said Robin Layman, VP, IHG
Business Unit, MICROS. “We have worked closely with IHG to develop
products for their specific needs, such as the OPERA Extended-Stay program
being installed in both Staybridge and Candlewood Suites, and our
eLearning training program which ensures a smooth deployment and comfort
level with the OPERA PMS system for users right from the start.”
