BWIA celebrates fourth successful West Indies Pow Wow

The fourth annual BWIA ‘West Indies Pow Wow’ took place in London on Thursday 17 March and proved to be the biggest and most successful in its short history.  Delegates from 68 exhibiting companies representing 19 tourist boards and 102 specialist agents, hoteliers, airlines and ground handlers attended the event. The informal workshop style event provided an important networking opportunity for representatives from across the Caribbean through a series of pre-booked one-to-one meetings.

BWIA’s Director of Sales & Marketing UK & Europe, Peter Iland, said:

“The event grows in size and stature every year and we are delighted that this year’s event is the biggest and best we have achieved so far.  We have no doubt that next year’s event will surpass even the success of 2005.  Regional co-operation is the way forward for the Caribbean tourist industry and events such as this help to develop closer ties between the many different sectors of the Caribbean tourism industry.”

This year’s event took place at The Mermaid Conference and Events Centre in Blackfriars, London.
