Birmingham International Airport (BIA) has re-launched its company website,, to provide a more user friendly, informative and enjoyable experience for its visitors.

Major improvements have been made to the architecture, navigation, style and content, which now includes detailed sections covering:  Airport Facilities; Flight Information; Corporate Information; Community Affairs; Environment & Planning; Commercial; Employment opportunities; Accessibility, as well as a dedicated section for the media called ‘Virtual Press Office’. Furthermore, the site is compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act and is ‘Bobby’ approved (compliance software tool).

Peter Vella, the Airport’s Business Development Director, said, “With the ever-increasing use of the internet, and the change in customer requirements, it became necessary to re-design our website to cater for and reflect the needs of the many different users - whether they be visits from existing or potential customers, Business-to-Business exploration, or enquiries from the local community. We worked extremely hard to make sure that the content was concise and relevant, and designed the architecture with the user in mind.

“We’re very happy with the result and hope visitors enjoy discovering more about Birmingham International Airport.”

Built by the Airport’s in-house IT department and designed by McCann-Erickson Central, the new site incorporates a number of new and improved features to make the facility more efficient, including a comprehensive ‘Search’ tool to improve and speed-up navigation. It was designed to embrace the Company’s brand identity - ‘Above & Beyond’ - which reflects choice and excellence.

David Bryant, Group Account Director at McCann Erickson, commented, “Not only was it vital that the Airport’s website became more user-friendly, it also needed to communicate key brand values and update users’ perceptions - Birmingham Airport is now truly ‘International’, with world-class airlines flying leisure and business passengers all over the world from the Midlands’ largest airport.”

The Airport also has a travel booking website,, enabling travellers to carry out their whole flight or holiday transaction on-line. This site can also be accessed via a link from
