Northwest Airlines Announces Nonstop Service

Northwest Airlines
today announced new nonstop service between Lansing and convenient Ronald
Reagan Washington National Airport. One daily flight will be offered
beginning June 9. As a result of this new flight—the only nonstop service between Capital
City Airport and the nation’s capital—Northwest’s existing schedule
between Lansing and Washington-Dulles International Airport will end June
8.

The new service to close-in National Airport will be operated by Northwest
Airlink partner Pinnacle Airlines Corp. using the Canadair Regional Jet
(CRJ), which seats up to 50 passengers.

“Northwest’s new flight between Lansing’s Capital City Airport and
Washington Reagan National is an important service for the many
mid-Michigan businesses and residents who travel to the nation’s capital
for business and pleasure,” said U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.). “The
service will be convenient for those with meetings or business with
federal agencies or congressional offices, and for individuals and
families traveling to Washington to enjoy the wealth of history and
culture the city offers.”

Customers currently holding tickets for travel June 9 or beyond on
connecting itineraries between Lansing and Washington National or on
nonstop service between Lansing and Washington-Dulles will be able to
change to Northwest’s new nonstop National Airport service without paying
an administrative change fee, provided changes are made by March 31.
