Mandara Spa Announces Opening of New Spa

Mandara Spa, the largest operator of Asian tropical garden spas in hotels and resorts in Southeast Asia, has opened a new city spa located in the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel, Bangkok.
Mandara Spa considers its newly-opened spa at the Four Seasons to be its most exclusive endeavor yet, in Thailand.  It comprises of nine treatment rooms - all named after flowers from the Northern Thai region - ranging from suites to single treatment rooms including facial-exclusive rooms and a spa-manicure and pedicure salon.  The rare dual design concept boasts a unique blend of traditional ‘Lanna’ style architecture, stemming from Northern Thailand and which is prevalent throughout the spa, with flirtations of Moroccan flair featured in the main suites.

The Lanna design concept is stunning in its elegance and refined simplicity and, here, features corridors that boast an interplaying of images with curved door architraves surrounded by natural, earthly warm colors.  The Lanna ‘spirit’ is embedded in the selection of natural materials and fabrics such as the engraved stone pieces and the richness of Thai silks throughout the complex.  With the aim being to create a visual impact that evokes feelings of serenity and privacy in a contemporary setting, the Spa’s architectural details can immediately transcend one’s senses to the ancient and mystical history of Northern Thailand.

“We also wanted to create a feeling of harmony between the design of the hotel and that of the Spa” says Khanita Chakritthakoon, Operations Manager of Mandara Spa (Thailand) Ltd.  This harmony is reflected in various ways - most prominent of which is in the new collateral designed specifically for this Spa, whose layout and color scheme flows smoothly with the collateral of the Four Seasons.  Additionally, just as the symbol of bells can be seen throughout the hotel lobby, so can they be seen adorning the main reception area of the Spa.  According to Asian tradition, a bell’s resounding voice carries messages of prosperity, protection, control and positive energy.

Signature treatments are named ‘Mandara Journeys’ - to suit individual needs and moods.  These include the Fall Mood Balancer, Spring Inspiration, Summer Spirit and Winter Body Glow.  The spa menu is flavored by various cultures and traditions.  From Bali to India and Thailand, ancient rituals in health and beauty are cultivated to suit the luxury spa and the expectations of the most discerning guests.  The sense of ritual and devotion that is inherent to these cultures is maintained and nurtured so that the treatments reflect the beauty, grace and refinement of the ancient times from which they evolved.

In addition to the traditionally-inspired treatments, The Spa managed by Mandara at the Four Seasons offers a range of spa-therapies using award-winning, UK based Elemis products.  Elemis is the market leader in advanced scientific phyto-therapy and aroma therapeutic spa and skincare formulations and professional spa therapy treatments for the face and body.  The products use no animal derivatives or testing - just the finest quality medicinal plants, organic herbs, revitalising seaweed extracts and active natural bases.  Also on offer are the Mandara signature aromatherapy massage oil blends and traditional body scrubs.
