Fourth Hilton in Ireland to create 150 jobs
Hilton International, an operating division of the UK based Hilton
Group plc today unveiled plans to continue its expansion into Ireland by opening its
fourth hotel in the region. The four-star Hilton Dublin Airport will open its doors
to the public in summer 2005, creating 150 jobs in North County Dublin in sales,
catering, management and housekeeping.
Hilton International already operates the Hilton Dublin at Charlemont Place as well
as the Hilton Belfast and Hilton Templepatrick in Northern Ireland.
The hotel occupies a focal point in the planned new town centre located at Northern
Cross on the Malahide Road, three kilometres from Dublin Airport and eight
kilometres from Dublin city centre. The ?35m landmark hotel, apartment, retail and
business park development, with extensive landscaped areas, is currently being
developed by P.J. Walls Group, one of Ireland’s largest building contractors and
property developers.
Patrick Veale, Managing Director of the PJ Walls Group, said: “This is a much-needed
hotel in North County Dublin, and we are very proud that it will be Irish owned and
run by a professional and experienced Hilton management team. We believe that the
close proximity to Dublin Airport, the M50 and M1 will make it a very accessible and
desirable new hotel location.”
David Webster, the newly appointed General Manager of the hotel, has been working
with Hilton for the last four years in both Ireland and the UK: “This is part of a
continued development strategy for the Hilton International brand in Ireland. We are
currently looking at three additional options in key locations around the country.
The Hilton Dublin Airport has been designed with the business traveller in mind with
its top class meeting and conference services. We believe it will also appeal to
local residents with its outstanding restaurant and wedding facilities.”
The four star hotel will boast the following facilities:

Conference and Meeting facilities, which will include a function suite with a
capacity for 300 people for banquets and weddings. Nine fully serviced Hilton
Meeting rooms with a business centre and breakout area.
166 air-conditioned bedrooms including four luxury junior suites.
All rooms are equipped with High Speed Internet access, Wireless LAN, in-room safes,
Iron & Ironing boards, Electronic mini bars.
Restaurant (Solas) offering a unique style of modern elegant Irish cuisine.
The Hilton Bar will feature the largest piece of Irish Bog Oak, which is over 4,000
years old, modelled into the bartop.
