New General Manager for the Renaissance Portsmouth Hotel

Crestline Hotels & Resorts, Inc. today announced the appointment of James F. Gross, CHA, as General Manager for the Renaissance Portsmouth Hotel and Waterfront Conference Center, VA. The Renaissance Portsmouth is a luxury 249 guest room hotel situated in Portsmouth’s historic Olde Towne district, overlooking the Elizabeth River and Norfolk, VA.Mr. Gross is an experienced hospitality industry management professional
who brings 20 years of management and leadership experience to the
position. Mr. Gross joins Crestline Hotels & Resorts from Lane Hospitality
where he was previously the General Manager of the Renaissance Hotel, Fort
Lauderdale, FL.

“Jim is a hands-on, energetic leader whose hospitality management
experience spans all aspects of our business from operations, to food and
beverage, to revenue management,” said Dave Durbin, President, Crestline

welcome him to Crestline.”

Mr. Gross holds an Associates Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Technology.
He has also completed the General Manager’s Program and the Professional
Development Program at The Hotel School at Cornell University. He has
attended several Dale Carnegie leadership training programs, and in 2000
received the Dale Carnegie Human Relations Award. Mr. Gross has also been
recognized as one of the Top 400 Performers by Lodging Hospitality
magazine for three consecutive years.

The Renaissance Portsmouth Hotel and Waterfront Conference Center is
situated in downtown Portsmouth’s historic Olde Towne district. The hotel
overlooks the busy Elizabeth River and the skyline of neighboring Norfolk.
Attractions from Williamsburg to Virginia Beach are nearly equidistant
from the hotel’s central location.
