Cioffi Appointed GM at The Bourbon Orleans

Wyndham International, Inc. announced the appointment of Robert Cioffi as general manager of the Bourbon Orleans - A Wyndham Historic Hotel. In his new position, Cioffi will manage the day-to-day operations and marketing for the 220-room landmark property located in the heart of the legendary French Quarter.“With previous experience managing hotel operations in New Orleans, and in particular the French Quarter, Robert understands what it takes to differentiate a property and its service offerings in this highly competitive and unique market,” said Jay Litt, senior vice president of operations, Region 1. His background in food and beverage operations and proven track record in finding ways to enhance the guest experience will prove valuable as we position this beautifully renovated property as the destination of choice for those visiting the French Quarter and New Orleans.”

Cioffi joined Wyndham International in 2003 as the hotel manager of the Wyndham Bel Age in West Hollywood, Calif. In this role, he achieved a number of noted accomplishments in managing the property’s day-to-day operations, enhancing overall service offerings, helping to exceed budgeted revenues, and positioning the hotel as a popular entertainment venue. Prior to joining the company, he served in various leadership positions guiding food and beverage and hotel operations for several upscale, luxury hotels such as the Omni Royal Orleans, Loews Santa Monica Beach, the Four Seasons in Boston, and several independent properties.

Built in 1817 in the heart of the French Quarter, the Bourbon Orleans is a unique treasure among the historic hotels in New Orleans with a rich history in style and culture. Located on the corner of Bourbon and Orleans streets, this beautiful landmark is walking distance from many of the city’s attractions including Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral, the French Market, the Audubon Aquariam of the Americas, Pat O’Brien’s, Cafe Du Monde and The Shops at Canal Place.

As a result of an extensive renovation, guests will find that nearly every inch of the property is new, from the lobby to the presidential suite. Guestrooms blend classic Old South ambiance with Old World accents. Extra-large bathrooms feature stone countertops and surfaces, marble floors and backsplashes, and other classic design elements and fixtures. Upon entering the completely renovated lobby, guests experience a timeless elegance surrounded by Chippendale and Queen Anne-style furnishings complimented by marble floors and beautiful local artwork. A sweeping grand staircase leads from the lobby to the restored historic Orleans Ballroom.
