look, it is designed to provide all the information a potential guest
might want when choosing a hotel or destination.Interactive meeting diagrams, digital media library, up-to-the-minute
weather, instant response to guest requests and an exhaustive calendar of
events for the Monterey Peninsula are just some of the services offered on
the new site. Additional technology allows users to make hotel
reservations on one simple screen, eliminating the typical 4 - 5 step
process typically needed to make a reservation. The site also allows hotel
staff to make content changes, add specials and packages and respond to
user suggestions from any web browser, instantly.

The hotel has recently completed a renovation of all its 380 guest rooms,
the lobby and Jacks, the sophisticated lobby lounge, at an overall cost of
nearly $7 million. The next step in the Portola Plaza Hotel improvement
program is a $1 million renovation of the hotel’s restaurant scheduled for
completion in April 2005.
