Grand Lido Braco scoops another Travel & Leisure accolade

In its January 2005 issue, “The Ultimate Hotel Guide,” Travel + Leisure magazine identifies Grand Lido Braco Resort & Spa as one of its well-travelled readership’s top picks for best Caribbean resort in the world - giving the property a coveted slot in the “T + L 500: The World’s Best Hotels, Resorts, Lodges, Inns, Safari Camps”.Scoring 80.66 on a scale of 100, Grand Lido Braco Resort & Spa is one of only four Jamaican resorts to be listed in “The Caribbean, Bermuda and the Bahamas” category, representing 29 Caribbean resorts from 15 island nations.

A first-time winner, the seaside AAA Four Diamond property is singled out by readers as being “a more upscale version of the island’s all-inclusives.” Readers further recommended its beachfront rooms - and the resort’s exercise programs, such as yoga, kickboxing, and reggae aerobics were considered outstanding enough to be included in a section titled “Don’t Miss.”

Grand Lido Braco Resort & Spa shares its top honor with such exclusive Caribbean retreats as Cap Juluca in Anguilla, The Reefs in Bermuda and Parrot Cay Resort in Turks & Caicos.

Travel + Leisure’s readers are invited each year to evaluate resorts based on rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food, and value, rating each category on a scale of 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent).

“The World’s Best Awards” attracted 425,105 evaluations, the magazine’s most comprehensive awards to date. Under “methodology” Travel + Leisure notes: “The T+L 500 is composed of the 500 hotels that received the highest overall ratings from Travel + Leisure readers in the 2004 World’s Best Awards survey.
