Flight Centre Opens Call Centre

FLIGHT CENTRE has opened its first UK call centre this week and appointed
David Howells to head up the team. Mr. Howells joins from Ebookers where he worked for nine years, working his way up from consultant to call centre manager looking after 80 staff. He will report into Flight Centre UK’s ecommerce director, Brett Warbrick.

Mr. Howells main responsibility initially will be overseeing phase one
of
the call centre launch that aims to have more than 20 full time staff
in
place by the end of March 2005. The team will act as a sales support
function for the company’s high street stores and handle telephone
sales
outside of shop hours, as well as dealing with email enquiries from the
web site.

Phase two will see the call centre grow to a team of more than 50 by the
end of the year and providing a dedicated customer services team for
the
company.

The call centre is based at the company’s head office in New Malden.
