Jens Thraenhart re-joined Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in 2001 as Director, Internet Strategy. In this role, he successfully used the internet as a medium to develop the Fairmont brand and strengthen guest relationships. Fairmont.com was awarded numerous prestigous awards in website design and online marketing under his direction.Prior to co-founding myleisuretime.com Inc. in 1999, where he also fulfilled the role of Executive Vice President, Marketing & Business Development until 2001, Jens worked for Four Seasons Hotels and Kempinski Hotels in operations and sales management, and as the Corporate Strategic Planning Analyst with Fairmont Hotel Management, L.P. In the winter of 1999 Jens worked for Marriott International Headquarters in interactive marketing, and from 1998-2000 he was a Hospitality Consultant with Success Hotel Management Company. Jens first joined Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in 1996 as Revenue Manager & Front Office Manager at The Fairmont Copley Plaza, where he worked for 2 years.
Jens holds a joint Bachelor of Science and International Hospitality Management degree from the University of Massachusetts as well as a Masters of Management in Hospitality from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. Jens was recognized as one of the travel industry’s top 100 rising stars by Travel Agent Magazine in 2003, and is listed as one of the ‘25 Most Extraordinary Sales and Marketing Minds in Hospitality and Travel’ by HSMAI.
In his new role, Jens will be responsible for leading, directing and managing overall marketing and owner services efforts for Fairmont Heritage Place, Fairmont’s Vacation Ownership and Residences division. He will evaluate and integrate new Fairmont Heritage Place properties to meet brand standards.
