Curaçao gets additional direct flights from AA

Curaçao will have two more direct flights from Miami on American Airlines taking it to a total of 11 weekly flights. This addition will provide west coast residents two more opportunities to make a connecting flight in Miami the same day as their departure, reducing the need to overnight in Miami. Additionally, east coast residents will now have a choice of two flight times, four days of the week.Effective December 16, 2004, an additional flight will be added on Thursdays and Sundays so that there will be two daily flights from Miami on Thursday through Sunday and one daily flight Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

“The additional airlift stems from demand from the consumer and is proof that Curaçao’s popularity is growing,” commented Director of Tourism Jim Hepple. “The airline has been pleased with the growing number of seats that are being filled and so is the island.Ê Tourism is an important part of our economic structure and we welcome our guests with open arms.”

Daily direct flights from Miami to Curaçao depart at 11:00 a.m. and a return flight from Curaçao to Miami departs at 3:53 p.m. On Friday and Saturday there is an additional flight out of Miami at 5:36 p.m. and the new flights on Thursday and Sunday will also be set at theÊ5:36 p.m. time slot.

“If the increase in business and demand continues we expect that American Airlines will be able to increase the airlift again and have two flights available seven days a week,” said Hepple.

“Curaçao is such a diverse and unique Dutch Caribbean island and people are taking notice of that.”ÊÊ
