Five-Star Luxury Hotel in Beijing Joins Nikko

The Beijing New Century Hotel in Beijing, a
five-star luxury property, will be re-named Hotel Nikko New Century
Beijing by JAL Hotels Company, Ltd., operator of the Nikko Hotels
International group, when it opens as a member of the Nikko group on
December 20th. Hotel Nikko New Century Beijing will be the second hotel in the Nikko
Hotels chain in Beijing (the first is the Jinglun Hotel).

Beijing New Century Hotel was opened in April, 1992. It is located in the
Northwest section of Beijing, near the high-tech IT zone, key government
ministries, the National Library and the Beijing Zoo. The hotel will meet
global standards for luxury and be operated as a flagship hotel in China.
Among the hotel’s many amenities and conveniences are a business center; a
fitness center featuring a fully-equipped gym with American exercise
equipment, an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam bath and Jacuzzi; a
recreation center with a three-lane bowling alley, billiards, mahjong and
indoor tennis courts; a hairdresser & barber; a post office; and a bank.

Renovations on the hotel’s guest rooms are being made, and are scheduled
to be completed by February, 2005. All of the hotel’s 726 guest rooms,
including three suites, have broadband internet access and phones with
dataports. They are also equipped with a mini-bar, and have satellite TV
with CNN, HBO, Star TV, and other overseas programming. Guests have
complimentary use of the pool, gym and sauna. On executive floors, guests
also enjoy a plush executive lounge that provides international newspapers
and magazines, business services, complimentary snacks and beverages and
reduced rates for the hotel’s meeting facilities.

The hotel features five restaurants and bars. The lobby lounge provides a
place to gather for drinks and conversation, and to listen to live music
in the evenings. The Bamboo Cafe features an array of American and
Continental fare. Kyoto, a Japanese restaurant, serves teppan-yaki,
sashimi and sushi. The Golden Palace prepares Chinese provincial
delicacies from Canton, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghai, and Beijing regions and
serves them in 14 private dining rooms of varying sizes fit for a wide
variety of dining occasions. Captain Nemo’s Bar in the lobby provides a
spot to relax and unwind after a long day of business or sightseeing.

For conferences, the Hotel Nikko New Century Beijing offers 12 function
rooms, varying in size from about 540 square feet up to approximately
17,200 square feet. A full range of state-of-the-art audiovisual
equipment, video recording and editing equipment, lighting and sound
equipment, and simultaneous interpretation equipment are available for
meetings. The facilities can host events ranging from meetings of 1,200
seated theatre-style to dinners for 800 or intimate meetings for 20.

The hotel is managed by BTG Nikko International Hotel Management Co.,
Ltd., a joint venture company founded in April, 2004 by JAL Hotels
Company, Ltd., headquartered in Tokyo, and Beijing Capital Tourism Co.,
Ltd., headquartered in Beijing. The mission of the joint venture company
is to provide hotel management services for upscale hotel properties in
China. The company’s first priorities as property locations are the 12
cities in China where Japan Airlines has air routes.

JAL Hotels plans to open its next property in the Nikko Hotels group, the
160-room Palau Royal Resort, in Koror, on the east coast of Malakal Island
of The Republic of Palau, in July, 2005.
