Building on the success of Bali Pavilions in Sanur, Hong Kong based boutique hotel group Pavilions is launching what will be its flagship property in Phuket, Thailand. The all pool-villa hotel will feature panoramic views of the Andaman Sea and cites ‘affordable luxury’ as its competitive edge.
Phuket Pavilions is located on a hilltop on the island’s picturesque west coast, just a short distance away from secluded Bang Tao and Layan Beaches. Opening in June 2005, the 21 Modern-Asia styled one bedroom pavilions and 9 three bedroom villas have a spacious open plan layout. The contemporary design by architect Tucker Bishop includes a kitchen, dining area, and a living room that flows into outdoor space showcasing a 12 x 4m private infinity pool, sundecks, gardens, sala and dramatic reflecting pools.
Close proximity to the airport, a selection of beaches and many leisure activities have made the Bang Tao area a highly desirable location. The established Laguna complex is five minutes from Phuket Pavilions with convenient access to a large range of dining options, shopping, and activities such as the world class Banyan Tree golf course, tennis, horseback riding, and water sports.
The chic sunset bar is an opportunity for guests to mingle. “This may be the only time that guests see one another,” quips Karie-Ann Carpenter, Sales & Marketing Director for the Pavilions group. “The pavilions have been designed carefully to preserve the concept of an intimate escape - the pavilions look onto views of the sea and the valleys, not onto other rooms.”
Pavilions is a growing boutique hotel and property development group headed by Hong Kong entrepreneur Gordon Oldham. The group operates Bali Pavilions in Sanur and has plans to open further Pavilions in Krabi and Koh Samui.
