Mr. John Q. Hammons to Expand Sheraton Sioux Falls

Mr. John Q. Hammons, founder, chairman and chief executive officer of John Q. Hammons Hotels, Inc, today announced his plans to add 58 guest rooms to the existing 184-room, six-story Sheraton Hotel in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The Sheraton Sioux Falls Hotel adjoins the 100,000-square-foot, city-owned Sioux Falls Convention Center and Sioux Falls Arena. The hotel is owned by Mr. John Q. Hammons and is managed by John Q. Hammons Hotels, Inc., the nation’s leading independent builder, developer, owner and manager of upscale full-service hotels, resorts and suites.

Located at 1211 North West Avenue, the Sheraton Sioux Falls Hotel is conveniently located near downtown and minutes away from I-90 and I-29. Additionally, the property is one mile from Joe Foss Field, South Dakota’s largest airport, and adjacent to Howard Wood Field and the Sioux Falls Baseball Stadium.

“With the increasing number of convention attendees and visitors to Sioux Falls, the expansion of the Sheraton Sioux Falls is a strategic next step to better accommodate the needs of this growing community,” said Mr. Hammons. “The property’s prime location, easy access to the convention center and arena, as well as its strong reputation for guest satisfaction, make it a popular lodging option for a variety of travelers. We look forward to continuing our support of the convention center and arena with this expansion by offering our top-notch staff and superior accommodations to even more guests.”

Construction of the four-story, second tower is scheduled to begin next week. It will feature all guest rooms and will be directly connected to the original hotel, which was built in 1998. Complementing the traditional style of the property, the new tower will feature dark wood, granite and inviting color tones.
