Hon. Nelson Oduber to speak at (CTC-27)
He is a multiple winner of “Person of the Year” and “Politician of the Year” in Aruba and the person responsible for the introduction of Aruba’s own Central Bank. He has also been Prime Minister on three separate occasions beginning in 1989 and is still serving his third term. Now Hon. Nelson Oduber will share his secret for success with hundreds of travel agents, regional dignitaries, tourism industry partners and regional and international media as he keynotes the Caribbean Tourism Organisation’s (CTO) 27th Annual Caribbean Tourism Conference (CTC-27), which takes place in Aruba Oct. 17-21, 2004.Ê“We are extremely honoured that Prime Minister Oduber has agreed to share his extensive experience and provide valuable insight into how Aruba has developed a quality tourism product which is competitive and which has stood up well despite recent global challenges,” said Karen Ford-Warner, CTO’s acting secretary general.
Hon. Nelson Oduber was first elected Prime Minister of Aruba in February 1989 and served until February 1993.Ê He served a second term from 1993-1994 and was elected for his third term in September 2001. The current term ends in 2005.Ê In 1995, he was knighted as “Companion of the Order of Orange Nassau” by Queen Beatrix of the Kingdom of The Netherlands.Ê
